A conversation between visiting filmmakers Ryan Steel and Kalil Haddad Visiting filmmakers Ryan Steel and Kalil Haddad will join us in conversation about no budget filmmaking and DIY filmmaking techniques. Ryan Steel Bio: Hello. My name is Ryan Steel. I am an inter-disciplinary filmmaker from Winnipeg, Manitoba. My art is informed by my DIY work ethic, obsession with hazy analog images, and longtime membership of the Winnipeg Film Group. My short films have played at festivals around the world including… International Film Festival Rotterdam, Festival Du Nouveau Cinéma Montréal, Vancouver International Film Festival, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, Sydney Underground Film Festival, and many more. I’ve also worked for some of Canada’s most exciting artists including… Rhayne Vermette, Grace Glowicki, Andy Shauf, Living Hour, We Quit Theatre, and Guy Maddin. I’m currently editing my first feature film “Meat”. Kalil Haddad Bio: Kalil Haddad is an experimental filmmaker based in Toronto.
