WhereNow is a live event discovery platform based in Nova Scotia, Canada. This Privacy Policy applies to the WhereNow website (wherenow.ca) and the WhereNow mobile application.

WhereNow is designed to let users discover local events quickly and easily without creating an account. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about the information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

Event submissions

If you submit an event through the platform, you voluntarily provide information such as the event name, description, host or organizer name, location name and address, dates and times, category, event type, age rating, price, website URL, tags, and an optional event image. Uploaded event images are stored and publicly displayed on the platform alongside the event listing.

Contact form

If you contact us through the website, you provide your name, email address, and message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is transmitted via email. Contact form submissions are not stored in our database.

Technical and security data

We may process limited technical information necessary to operate the platform, prevent spam, and maintain security. This may include hashed and encrypted device information and CAPTCHA challenge tokens. This data is not used to identify or profile individual users.

Cookies and local storage

WhereNow uses a small number of essential cookies and browser local storage to support platform functionality:

• An organizer access code cookie that allows event submission access for up to 7 days.
• Browser local storage to save event form drafts and recent submissions on your device. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Analytics

We may use analytics tools to understand how the platform is used and to improve the experience. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to build personal profiles or identify individual users.

What we do not collect

WhereNow does not require user accounts to browse or discover events. We do not collect device location data from your device through the website.

How we use information

We use information only as needed to:

• Display and manage event listings
• Review and moderate submitted events
• Respond to contact form inquiries
• Prevent spam, bots, and abuse
• Maintain platform security and integrity
• Improve platform reliability and performance

Third-party service providers

WhereNow is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
